Still thirsty.

On a cold Saturday morning in May of this year, I got married.

It was a whimsy whirlwind of laughter, tears, unforgettable moments, and lots and lots of good food.

Then, my new husband and I strapped on our travelers packs and headed to Bali, Indonesia for two of the most dreamy weeks we’ll ever know.

Now, we’re home(ish) in Atlanta, Georgia. Looking for a place to nest for a while.

Our journey over the last (almost) 2 years together has been nothing short of amazing, and nothing shy of difficult. In times of total bliss, we have felt so blessed. And in times of teeth-clenching, fist-shaking *deep breath* …frustration… we have known we were blessed. Even if we don’t always feel it. We know it.

Figuring out marriage is hard. Figuring out life in general is hard. There are very few things that have remained constant throughout the course of our lives together. It seems a daily happening for one or both of us to re-examine and re-define our ways of thinking and living. I guess that’s the beauty of marriage. Refinement.

One of the things, though, that has never changed for either one of us- is the desire to be abundantly generous people.

We have both been blessed with opportunities to give, but our favorite story yet?

Our Wedding Well.

Upon realizing that we “had it coming to us” with all of the gifts our loved ones wanted to shower us with as newlyweds, we both felt compelled to really think through the kind of story we wanted to tell with the kind, generous gifts from our family and friends. We landed on opting out of traditional wedding registries, and instead, chose Charity:Water.

With just $10,000 we could build a well in Ethiopia for a village of people; mothers, sons, daughters, and fathers; who did not have clean drinking water. Did you know that diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war? It’s true. It broke our hearts, and so we decided to funnel all wedding gifts to our very own Trivett Wedding Well.

…and let me just say…

We have been ASTOUNDED by the love, support, and generosity you all have shown. In just a few months, we raised almost $6,500!!

To those who gave monetarily, I want to extend the deepest, warmest, fluffiest, confetti-popping THANK YOU. YOU have changed the world. You have given to a cause that will directly save hundreds of lives. You are amazing.

One day after the wedding, our campaign closed. we had provided, with your help, clean drinking water for THREE HUNDRED AND TWENTY people!

So rad, right?

But Matt and I got to talking… and both decided that we just… weren’t… done.

We want the full $10,000. We want to build the well.

So in all feistiness, I contacted Charity:Water and begged for them to re-open the campaign. It was an easy sell, and BAM.

We have officially re-opened our campaign until June 30, the very last possible date, and are asking for you to contribute towards the FINAL $3,500!

We will stop at nothing to get the word out, and would be so blessed by your help in spreading this around.

We so desperately want to see this thing through! We are believing and fighting and praying and giving. We just can’t do it alone.
